Availability: Tuna species are found throughout the world’s oceans.

Habitat and Ecology: Tuna fish tends live in warm waters, where the temperature ranges between 17° C to 33° C. Additionally, these fish are known for occupying in open ocean. Most of the tuna fishes, stay in the upper layers of the sea, or, in other words, in shallow waters of warm temperature, where the flows of the ocean are a bit more extreme.

Justification: A study in the journal Fisheries Research estimated that about 6m tonnes of tuna are now caught annually, a rate that risks driving tuna populations to unsustainable levels and possible extinction.
